DETAIL SPECIFICATION
WASHER-EXTRACTOR, LAUNDRY, 16- TO 20-POUND CAPACITY (SUBMARINE SERVICE)
Reinstated after 5 November 2009 and may be used for new and existing designs and acquisitions.
This specification is approved for use by the Naval Sea Systems Command, Department of the Navy, and is
available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense.
1. SCOPE
1.1 Scope. This specification covers a 16- to 20-pound dry weight capacity automatic combination washer-
extractor for use aboard submarines.
1.2 Classification. Washer-extractors are of the following types, as specified (see 6.2).
Type I Shock qualified (see 3.5.5 and 6.1)
Type II Not shock qualified (see 3.5.5 and 6.1)
1.3 Part or Identifying Number (PIN). PINs to be used for washer-extractor acquired to this specification are
