COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
TRUCK, HAND, BOX, LAUNDRY, PLASTIC
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this Commercial Item Description in preference to MIL-T-43610.
1. CLASSIFICATION
1.1 Classification. This commercial item description covers plastic laundry hand trucks in the following sizes (see 5.2):
Size 1 – 6 bushel
Size 2 – 8 bushel
Size 3 – 10 bushel
Size 4 – 12 bushel
Size 5 – 14 bushel
Size 6 – 16 bushel
Size 7 – 18 bushel
Size 8 – 20 bushel
1.2 CID based part identification number (PIN). A document based upon to identify size numbers is included in section 5. This identification numbering procedure is for Government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Design and construction. The body (liner) of the truck shall be fabricated from polyethylene with a minimum wall thickness of 0.187 inches after forming. The body (liner) shall have a tapered design that will allow nesting of empty trucks. The inside of the liner shall have a smooth and even surface without roughness or projections that can be seen or felt. The top of the body (liner) shall have a curled flange.
