2.1.4 Lint trap. The lint trap shall be located under the basket/drum and be accessible from the front. The lint trap shall contain a fine mesh, self-cleaning, screen that allows lint to fall off the screw and into the lint storage area.
2.1.5 Controls. The controls shall be computer controlled or manually controlled as specified (see 1.1 and 5.2). The controls shall be located above the basket/drum and be accessible from the front. The tumbler shall not operate when the loading door is open.
2.1.5.1 Computer controls. The computer control shall automatically or manually control drying and cooling temperature. Automatic setting shall select drying and cooling temperatures by preprogrammed formulas. The automatic setting shall control drying temperatures, stop the drying cycle when clothes become dry, and control the cooling temperature and time.
2.1.5.2 Manual controls. The manual controls shall include switch indicator light, a drying time dial, a cooling time dial, and a drying temperature selector. The drying time dial shall be able to set the drying time from 0 to 60 minutes. The cooling time dial shall be able to set the cooling time from 0 to 15 minutes. The drying selector shall have high, medium, and low temperature selections or a temperature dial from 135o to 170o Fahrenheit.
2.1.6 Manual(s). Each laundry tumbler shall be supplied with a complete set of manuals or a complete manual. The manual(s) shall contain operations, complete maintenance instructions and schedules, a trouble shooting guide for the unit, a wiring diagram of the unit, and figures and parts lists for the unit. The parts lists shall have part numbers for the ordering of spare/replacement parts.
2.2 Electrical requirements. The 15 through 30 pound capacity, steam or gas, tumblers shall be designed to operate on 120 volts, 60 Hertz, 1 phase power, or as specified (see 5.2). All other types and sizes shall be designed to operate on 208/240 volts, 60 hertz, 3 phase power, or as specified (see 5.2).
2.3 Data name plate (Government unique requirement, see 5.4). The laundry tumblers shall be furnished with a data mm plate in accordance with the applicable requirements of MIL-SID-130exceptthe requirements for: (a) Methods of applying; (b) Identification tags; (c) Information not required and (d) Optional marking information shall not apply. The data name plate shall be made of minimum 20 gauge corrosion resisting metal attached to the laundry tumbler by rivets, screws, or welding in such a manner that it is readily visible to the operator during normal operating use and so as to not adversely affect the life and utility of the laundry tumbler. The plate shall contain the following information which shall be stamped, engraved, or applied by photosensitive means:
