COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
PIN, NET, LAUNDRY, (5-INCH)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Federal Specification FF-P-419.
1. CLASSIFICATION.
1.1 Scope. This commercial item description covers one type and size of laundry net pin.
2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS
2.1 Materials. The materials used in the manufacture of laundry pins shall be of the quality normally used by the manufacturer for pins, providing that the completed item complies with all the provisions of this commercial item description.
2.1.1 Sheet and strip. Sheet and strip shall be alloy not less than 0.034 inch in thickness. The material shall conform to ASTM B 36 alloy number C26000 or C26800.
2.1.2 Wire. The wire shall be copper alloy conforming to ASTM B 134 alloy number C26000 or C27000, having a diameter of 0.141 to 0.159 inches.
2.2 Construction. Pins shall conform to the dimensions shown in figure 1. The clasp shall be formed of the sheet and strip specified in 2.1.1. The wire body shall conform to the wire specified in 2.1.2, and shall have a blunt point.
